Blokes & Braids at Scorpio Estate
We’re taking Blokes & Braids somewhere pretty special.
Set among the vines at the incredible Scorpio Estate, this one is part practical workshop, part seriously good dads’ night out.
Settle in with a steak and chips and a drink, have a game of pool, meet some other dads and father figures, and pick up some genuinely useful hairstyling skills along the way.
Our facilitator will guide you through a range of styles, from getting the basics right through to braids and other looks you can pull out for school mornings, special occasions or the next “Dad, can you do my hair?” moment.
Already been to Blokes & Braids? Come back for round two. We’ll be introducing different styles so there’s plenty more to learn.
Your $79 ticket includes:

No experience needed. No expectations. Just a chance to learn something useful, have a laugh and enjoy a great night in a pretty spectacular setting.
And while you’re there, you’ll be supporting Parent Thread. Proceeds from the event help our non-profit continue creating free and affordable opportunities for parents and families to connect, find their people and build community.

Painting Playdate with Parent Thread
Come along for a relaxed morning of plaster painting, coffee and connection with Parent Thread at Artsy Crafty Lounge.
The kids can choose a plaster piece to paint and get creative, while you grab a coffee, have a chat and meet some other local parents. No pressure, no need for everyone to sit still, and absolutely no expectation of uninterrupted conversation. 😂
Plaster painting is free for the kids, thanks to Parent Thread. Coffee, drinks and anything else you’d like are available to purchase from Artsy Crafty Lounge.
You’ll also see an optional Pay It Forward donation when booking. There’s absolutely no expectation to contribute, but if you’d like to, your donation helps Parent Thread keep creating free and low-cost opportunities for local parents and families to connect. 🤎

Blokes and Braids- Torquay Edition
Blokes & Braids: Torquay Edition
After two fully booked events, Blokes & Braids is heading to Torquay for an even bigger evening of connection, practical skills and good company.
Join other dads and father figures for a relaxed night out at Torquay Bowls Club. Whether you're looking to learn a few new skills, meet other local dads or simply enjoy a couple of hours away from the usual routine, this event is for you.
We'll have local hairdressers on hand to help you practise hairstyles and build confidence with the basics, along with opportunities to learn about hair products, nail painting and other practical skills that can make everyday parenting a little easier.
No experience needed and no pressure to be good at it!
Light snacks will be provided, with drinks available for purchase from the venue.
Please note: This is a dads-only event. Children do not attend.
What to expect:
• Hairstyling practice with support from local hairdressers
• Food and refreshments
• A relaxed, welcoming atmosphere
• Opportunities to connect with other local dads

Tickets are offered on a pay-what-you-feel basis. There is no expectation to contribute and all dads are welcome, regardless of financial circumstances. If you are able to make a contribution, it will help support future opportunities for dads to connect.
